Why did I ever agree to sleep in the same bed as Lexi? This was the worst idea ever.

Sliding out of bed, I feel my way through the darkness over to the portable crib and reach inside to pick up the baby. Remembering what Lexi said about keeping a hand on the back of his head, I scoop him up with one hand underneath his head and the other under his butt. It’s easy since he barely weighs a thing. Then, I put him on my shoulder, like I’ve seen Lexi do, to free up a hand to open the door and slip out of the room.

Holding a kid while fixing a bottle with one hand is not an easy feat, but I manage, remembering to shake it up before I pop the nipple into Liam’s now very fussy mouth.
